Seething Mom

I seethe NOT because my son is gay. I seethe because he lives in a country in which some elected officials find it politically advantageous to deny him dignity, basic rights, and protections. I seethe because there are people who preach hatred and discrimination towards gays yet claim to be "good" and "loving" Christians. I seethe because there are groups who claim to be "advocates" for the family but who work to do great harm to any family that doesn’t fit their narrow template for “normal”.

A race to the bottom of the barrel – Part 2

Oh and let’s not forget the Baptist Minister who’s leading the GOP pack in the Iowa polls. You know, the one who’d rather quarantine anyone with AIDS than minister to them, or convince a parole board to release a convicted rapist against their better judgment and then lie through his teeth about his influence on the board when said rapist not only rapes another woman but kills her for good measure, but who got into politics to take back this Nation for Christ.

This is how bat-sh*t crazy I consider the GOP Presidential candidates: it wouldn’t shock me one iota if one of them actually came out with an ad like the one below. Every time I watch one of their primary debates, I feel like I am watching a contest to see who can claim the honor of being the biggest homo-hater, the biggest war-monger, the biggest racist, and of course the most God-like.

This is the most loathsome group of snake-oil salesmen I’ve seen gathered in one place in a long time (with the exception of a Values Voter Summit).

I’m beyond disgusted, I’m sick to my stomach, and I have no faith in or respect for the Republican Party. The GOP Presidential candidates representing this Party are all repugnant, putrid excuses for decent human beings let alone good Christians. God help us if one of these sorry little men becomes the next President of the United States.
