Congress' 10 dumbest lawmakers

MEET THE PUTZ Rep. J.D. Hayworth (left) looks as dumb as he is

Well lookie what I found. My very own “esteemed” Representative, J.D. Hayworth (R-AZ) is being recognized for something. He has made the list of “America's 10 Dumbest Congressmen”. And even though he didn’t take 1st place, he came in a very respectable 4th among “the 10 biggest fools on the Hill”. This is according to the online magazine Radar. Only 3 others can claim the distinction of being “dumber”: Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) at #3, Representative Donald Young (R-AK) at #2, and the grand prize goes to Representative Katherine Harris (R-FL) at #1.

A little snippet:

Hayworth's dimness is so legendary on the Hill that one Arizona colleague told a reporter that he's a textbook example of the power of gerrymandering because of his continued ability to get re-elected despite saying "any foolish thing." Recently he put that thesis to the test, openly approving the nativist writings of the anti-Semitic auto baron Henry Ford and repeatedly mis-stating a reporter's first and last name during an interview. Of course, Hayworth is a strong supporter of "English only" bills, proving yet again the adage that those who can't do, legislate.

As I’ve said before, I cannot be counted as one of Mr. Hayworth’s fans, but far be it from me to let those feelings get in the way of being one of the first to congratulate him.

Go check out the article and see if your Representative is blessing you with as much honor and distinction as mine is.
